American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sacramento is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Amazing bagels, ok coffee. This is as good as an East coast bagel shop! My girlfriend has the empanadas and they were really good. 20/10

Got an iced Macchiato, everything bagel egg & cheese with bacon and a 1/2 dozen bagels to go with the guava cream cheese. Had the jalapeΓ±o bagel at home and it was way too doughy. First off the sandwich was solid, my main gripe is the price, itβs pretty absurd. I just got back from a week trip in NYC and the above would cost 30$ in NYC but here it was 51$. Thatβs just too much, even in SF the prices wouldnβt be this much. Parking lot is pretty small and area seems a bit sketchy.

Wow. Just wow. Forgotten Bakery is somewhere I will never forget now that it's on my foodie radar. We showed up on Saturday morning at about 10:30 am and there was already a small line gathering. Good sign that this is a local favorite! Nice little patio area that even had heaters on this chilly morning. I was in the mood for something a little lighter and ordered the vegetarian Forgarden bagel but I requested the full on cream cheese (no vegan for me!). My sidekick who was along for the ride ordered the ham and cheese empanada. The bagel, whoa! Best bagel I've had outside of New York. The softness and chewiness was chef's kiss The vegetables were so fresh and everything melded together with an incredible synchronicity, especially with the dill and olive oil. It was heavy on the black pepper but it worked so well. The ham and cheese empanada was also delicious. The pastry dough was everything! The staff were working so very hard and did it with a smile the whole time. I highly recommend!

We heard about this place and figured we would try it out. It is a small building in the corner with a small parking lot. There was a line to order and it took about 15 minutes to get our food. There is only outdoor seating, DRESS ACCORDINGLY. We ordered and pictured below, BAE on plain BAE on zaatar Nutella on plain Plain cream cheese on plain. We also ordered hot coffee, hot cocoa, and apple juice. Hot cocoa was a hit, the coffee needed cream and sugar and the apple juice was very tasty. Did came out hot and delicious. Lots of filling and tasty goodness. Gets a little messy, though, but worth it. We are definitely coming back. We want to try the empanadas, next time.

Girl need bae breakfast with her bestie. Off we rode in his loyal stead of Grey charger. Be warned parking is worse than trader joe spots. Parking on the street is you best bet. The line can get long ordering online for speed. Not gonna lie though the nice counter lady made it worth ordering in person. So personable! ( she loved my nails too, aka okayyy girllll) Loved everything! Pistachio Cold brew Latte. Forgarden. Bae. Guava cream cheese empanadas. Spinach and cheese empanada. They have outdoor seating. Support!
